- Michael S. Lawlor
- I was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1959. I moved with my family to San Antonio, Texas in 1969, where I subsequently attended the local public schools. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981, with a major in Economics and a minor in Philosophy. I received a PhD. in Economics from Iowa State University is 1986. I became a faculty member of the Economics Department of Wake Forest University in 1986. I have held visiting appointments at Cambridge (U.K.) and Duke. I was cross-appointed to the Public Health Sciences Department in the Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1992.
